Working with flax...

I've never done flax before. I'm practicing to spin bowstrings for the renaissance festival this season, and the monthly challenge this month is "renaissance".

Hackling flax means you literally lose half the fiber. Seriously. Looks like a horse's tail though. :)

I'm currently experimenting with wet spinning on a spindle as well... While I'd like to post more now, it's kind of boring until I get working on it... :)

Yeah yeah yeah... I had to get pix for it first. :) Hubby took pix *while* I was spinning last night!

Of course, part of this had to do with stealing his bar stool in order to spin... Spinning off a distaff not only involves the proper tools, but a chair that can accomodate!

Pictures of your hacking and your set up for spinning no matter how goofy and fun, would help me as I am trying the same thing... Thanks
